Obituary of Dale Eugene Robarts

Dale Eugene Robarts passed away on March 15, 2024, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. Born on January 16, 1937, in Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia, he was married to Isabel (Fenerty) until her passing in 1996. Dale is survived by his son Dan (Nicole) and grandchildren Leah, Ashley, Abbey, Avery and brother Collin.

He is predeceased by his son John (2017), parents Kurtis and Edith Robarts, and siblings Molly, Carl, Bill, Reg, Stewart, Merdel, Don, and several in-laws including late Doris, Irvin Smiley, late Bev McKibbon, and fondly remembered by Don and Brenda Fenerty, Bob and Yo Fenerty, and Kay McKibbon.

Having started his journey in the Annapolis Valley, working on the farm until he was 18. Dale moved to Sudbury to work at Inco, where he met Isabel. Together, they moved to North Bay to start a new chapter by owning and operating the Dunrovin Motel for over 15 years, during the winter months they operated ice fishing charters on Lake Nipissing.  Dale later became the owner/operator of Union Taxi, a role he cherished until the company's recent closure.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, at 11:00 am at Lakeshore Missionary Church, followed by interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Spring 2024. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dale's memory may be made to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice or Northeast Cancer Centre.
